Oppo plans to release ColorOS 6 on November 22

Oppo plans to mark its fifth anniversary on November 22 with the release of ColorOS 6. The official Weibo account of ColorOS has been sharing countdown posters for the event for some time and now, it has shared an interesting post related to the next version of the OS called ColorOS 6.
The post was actually first shared by Chris Chen Xi, who used to work for Meizu‘s Flyme OS but now works for Oppo. The post from Chen was re-shared by ColorOS account and Chen revealed that he will share details about ColorOS 6 at 12 noon on November 22. This coincides with the fifth anniversary of the Chinese smartphone maker.

The only known thing about the new operating system is that it will feature a revamped design and bring improvement in performance for both flagship devices as well as low-end smartphones. The update will be based on Android 9 Pie, which means a number of Oppo devices will soon become eligible for Android Pie update. To recall, Oppo R15 was among few devices that was a part of Android 9 Pie beta process early this year and could become the first smartphone to get ColorOS 6 update.
At this moment, Oppo is working on the release of ColorOS 5.2.1 to its devices. The update is likely to bring Oppo’s Hyper Boost technology to 17 Oppo smartphones including the Oppo R17, Oppo R17 Pro, Oppo R15, Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition, Oppo A5, Oppo R11 among others. It is not clear when Oppo will release Android Pie-based UI for its mobile devices but we are likely to hear about it on November 22
