One Plus 7 full details
One Plus is one of the few companies that practice a very short product cycle for their smartphones. In 2018, we saw the OnePlus 6 break cover in the middle of the summer and the OnePlus 6T came after 5 months with substantial improvements. At the Qualcomm Summit in Hawaii last December, OnePlus announced that they would be one of the first few smartphone manufacturers to launch a smartphone with the ability to access 5G internet. The device was promised to be in the market by early 2019. And it seems that OnePlus will be keeping up with their promise.
A new leak posted on Slashleaks shows a photo of two smartphones running Oxygen OS. The device on the right looks very familiar to the recently launched OnePlus 6T -- thanks to its waterdrop notch. However, the display curves towards the edges in a very Samsung Galaxy S9-esque fashion. While not much can be taken off this device considering the fact that basic architecture is very similar to the OnePlus 6T, we assume that this could be the 5G variant fo the OnePlus 6T. This could feature the Snapdragon 855 chipset with a 5G modem.
However, the device to the left is of prime interest to geeks and OnePlus fans. As is clearly visible, the device has no notch on the display. The earpiece is huge and sits on the top edge of the device. It is also running Oxygen OS like the other device. The display curves in a similar fashion towards the edges as well. However, one thing is absent -- where's the front camera
If you take a closer look at the case that's holding the phone, you can see that it has additional space on the top. The extra space on the top has the provision for a front camera and some sensors. Since there's nothing beneath it, for now, it's easy to figure out that this will be a slider device, i.e. the OnePlus 7 will feature a sliding display similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.
Our guess is that the slider smartphone could be the OnePlus 7, which is already under development alongside the 5G variant of the OnePlus 6T. There's a high chance that OnePlus could use MWC 2019 to unveil the OnePlus 5G 6T and showcase the OnePlus 7. They could also hint at the device with some sort of a teaser.
Whatever may be the case, you shouldn't get excited for now as this is too early to assume anything. There's a high chance that this could be a prototype device that OnePlus is testing and could never see the light of the day. However, with more manufacturers adopting the slider form, we won't be surprised if OnePlus adopts it for the OnePlus 7.
